Bat Removal

Our bat exclusion work is designed for long-term protection and may include warranty coverage depending on the scope of sealing performed. By addressing every potential entry point, we reduce the risk of future bat activity and provide peace of mind knowing your home is properly protected.

Bat Exclusion Timing in New Jersey

In New Jersey, bat exclusion is performed only during approved times of the year to protect bat populations and ensure humane, effective removal. Bats in NJ typically enter maternity season between May 1st and August 1st, when female bats give birth and raise their young inside attic roosts.

During this period, baby bats are unable to fly and rely entirely on their mothers for survival. Performing exclusion at this time would trap young bats inside the structure, leading to death, odor issues, and increased property damage as adult bats attempt to re-enter. For this reason, full bat exclusion is not performed in New Jersey during maternity season.

Approved bat exclusion windows in New Jersey generally include:

  • Early Spring: April 1 - April 30th
  • Late Summer through Fall:  August 1 - October 15th

FAQs About Bats and Bat Exclusions

Are bats dangerous to have in my home?

Bats are not aggressive, but their presence inside a home can create health and safety concerns. Bat droppings (guano) can accumulate in attics and may cause odors, structural damage, and potential health risks. Any direct contact with a bat should be taken seriously and addressed by a professional.

Can bats be trapped or removed immediately?

No. Bats cannot be trapped or relocated like other wildlife. The only safe and effective solution is bat exclusion, which allows bats to exit on their own using one-way devices while preventing them from returning.

What happens if bats are found during the restricted season?

If bats are discovered during maternity season, we perform a professional inspection and develop a plan for exclusion once the proper window opens. In some cases, limited preventative measures or monitoring may be used to reduce interior exposure until full exclusion can be completed.

Do bats damage homes?

Bats themselves do not chew like rodents, but their presence can cause issues such as staining, odor, guano buildup, and contamination of insulation. Over time, this can affect air quality and attic conditions.

Do you offer cleanup after bats are removed?

We provide recommendations and optional services for guano cleanup and sanitation after exclusion is complete. Cleanup is typically performed once all bats have safely exited the structure.

If you think you may have bats in your home please give us a call to schedule an inspection.
